Mekhong Classic is a selection from a 91-year-old woman who has grown these seeds for generations. Named after the river between Laos and Thailand, it is the oldest lineage discovered in the river area. The strain is pest and mold resistant, thrives in harsh environments, and is easy to grow outdoors in tropical and subtropical areas, though it can be challenging indoors. It is known for its resin production and some plants exhibit a balanced 1:1 THC:CBD ratio, even up to 14% of each, with some CBG almost always present. Terpenes resemble green apples. It is a 100% sativa landrace strain with a candelabrum structure. It can be THC-rich or have a 1:1 THC:CBD ratio. Flowering indoors takes 12-14 weeks, and outdoors it flowers in December. It has average-high yield. It exhibits very high resistance to spider mites and botrytis, and high resistance to powdery mildew, white fly, and heat. Resistance to cold is average-high. It grows well within 0º-37º latitude. The terpene profile is mainly linalool, followed by limonene, beta-myrcene and alpha-pinene. It does not like to be defoliated, pinched, or cut, and can herm under stress. After a long curing, it can develop notes of liquorice and lemon oil.
